QUALIFICATIONS:        Must be certified for grades 7 - 12, any area 

 

REPORTS TO:              Principal and/or other Supervisor. Position is for both High School and Middle School. 

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:   203 days

 

                            

JOB SUMMARY: The position of building Learning Coordinator is of critical importance as the Berryville School District continues to sharpen its focus on improving student learning levels by implementing professional learning community practices and concepts. The educator who fills this position will work alongside school administration and closely with teacher teams.

 

The primary function of this position is to enhance student learning and support teachers in the buildings to which he or she is assigned. To this end, candidates for the position must have a demonstrated record of exceptional teaching skills as reflected in the learning levels of their students, as well as the recognition and respect of their peers. The building Learning Coordinator’s professional behavior must support all aspects of the district direction.

 

This position will work with teacher teams to review student learning data, analyze student work, lead teams in reflective practice, share with individual teachers and teams proven “best practices” for enhancing student learning, and assist teams in setting and achieving “smart” goals. They will ensure that teams focus on the critical questions of learning in a manner reflective of the highest quality. This position will oversee all interventions and enrichments in both schools, including the oversight of the RTI Scheduling system. All data, including attendance, discipline, and academic will be considered for intervention services.

 

Building Learning Coordinators must demonstrate leadership skills. This includes the ability to facilitate groups of adult learners, build relationships with staff, and possess exceptional multi-tasking skills. The coordinator position will also support novice and newly hired teachers as needed.
